08.30 Meeting with the guide at the hotel reception. Departure to the boat dock located in the fishing village of Bako, a 30-minute drive from Kuching (25 km).
09.00 20 minutes by motorboat to Bako Park. The park is located on the Muara Tebas Peninsula by the Bako and Kuching rivers. When you enter the park, you have to go to the park registration, then you can go hiking.
Established in 1957, Bako Park is the oldest park in Sarawak. Its territory is 27.27 km2. Over millions of years, sandstone erosion has created beautiful cliffs and white sand beaches. This is the smallest park in Sarawak, but definitely one of the most interesting. The park has 16 forest trails that lead to waterfalls and beautiful beaches. The park has seven ecosystems with rainforests, mountain forests, mangroves and swamps. Proboscis monkeys live in the park and bearded pigs walk along the beach. Crabs live in the mangroves, and there are whole gardens with insectivorous plants – cups in the mountains of the park.
12.00 Lunch at a local cafe or on the beach according to the wishes of the guests and the chosen route. It is possible to arrange for a boat to wait at the end of the trail, and after resting on the beach you can return by boat instead of walking. The length of the trails ranges from 500 m to 5 km, and their degree of difficulty varies.
16.00 Return to the hotel. The end of the tour.
