Tour programme

08.00 Meeting with the guide at the hotel reception. Departure to Melaka – the birthplace of Malaysia, which was founded in 1400, and only after the discovery of tin in 1887, Kuala Lumpur became the capital. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Melaka was a great seaport in the 15th century, once ruled by the Portuguese, Dutch and English.

Tour itinerary:

  • Paul’s Hill with St. Paul’s Church, which was the oldest church in Southeast Asia.
  • Dutch Square, home to several historical monuments and sites. It is also known as the Red Square because most of its area is painted red.
  • Stroll along Yonkers Street for great shopping and dining.
     
 

13.00 Lunch at a local restaurant of the guests’ choice (not included in the price). I would recommend trying the traditional Baba Nyonya style cuisine, which is a mix of Malay and Chinese dishes.

  • Baba Nyonya Museum. This property was purchased by the Chan family in 1861, and it is still in the seventh generation of this family, which opened a museum in the building in 1985. The name of the museum comes from the word baba, which is the name of respectable gentlemen, and nyonya, which is the name of married ladies. When Chinese traders married Malay girls, an ethnically mixed group was formed in Malaysia, also known as Babanuun. Beautiful old Chinese furniture has been preserved in the house. During the excursion, you will learn about the traditions, family history, beliefs and customs of the Babanians.
  • A walk along Harmony Street. It is the only street in Malaysia where three types of temples are located: a Hindu temple, a Buddhist temple and a Muslim mosque.

17.00 Return to the hotel. The end of the tour.
