Tour programme

09.00 Meeting with the guide at the hotel reception. Departure to the city of Putrajaya, which is located between the international airport and the capital (about 40 km from the center of Kuala Lumpur). This beautiful city was built in six years. Putrajaya (translated from Sanskrit: putra – ‘prince’ and jaya – ‘success, victory’) is the administrative center of Malaysia. In 1999, the seat of government was moved from Kuala Lumpur to Putrajaya due to heavy traffic congestion in the capital. In 2001, it became Malaysia’s third federal territory after Kuala Lumpur and Labuan. Various ministries are also located here: Finance, Health, Tourism and Education, as well as a passport department and a large botanical garden.

Tour itinerary:

  • Prime Minister’s Official Residence – This complex is the official residence of the Prime Minister of Malaysia and a venue for ceremonial events with heads of state and government, dignitaries and members of the public. The mighty Seriperdana consists of three blocks: the main reception and protocol block, the banquet block and the prime minister’s residence block. Protocol and banquet blocks are open to the public. The complex reflects Islamic modern architecture, but some of its design is European in style. The residence was built in 1997, its territory is 42.5 acres.
  • Masjid Putra – Malaysia’s main mosque, built between 1997 and 1999. It is located next to Perdana Putra (Prime Minister’s Office) and the man-made Putrajaya Lake. The mosque is a beautiful shade of pink. It consists of three areas: prayer, courtyard and study or event spaces. At the same time, the mosque can accommodate 15,000 believers.
  • Putrajaya Wetland – This wetland was created in 1997 on 197 hectares of land where a palm plantation used to be. It performs three functions: reduces flooding by retaining rainwater, water filtration, and provides a home for various plants and animals (frogs, reptiles, fish). The lakes created are clean, full of wildlife and are currently a popular ecotourism destination. There is a place for both walks and active recreation with bicycles. Here you can watch birds, you can rent kayaks, canoes, you can even fish. Great recreation in nature, right next to a huge city.

13.00 Return to the hotel. The end of the tour.
